What is your role? 
I am the underwriter of ITIC Europe or the EU underwriter.
 
Where were you working before? Please give us a brief overview of your career history. 
Even though my educational background is not in shipping, prior joining ITIC Europe I have worked with two ship management companies for both tankers and bulk-carriers. My previous job was claims negotiator and I was preparing the demurrages and all time and bunker related claims and handling the disputes arising from these. 
 
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
In my new role, I am looking forward to meet new people and explore diverse cultures through traveling and networking events. 

Any life ambitions or future goals still to achieve?
One of my core life ambitions is to excel in everything I do, focusing on setting realistic and achievable goals within manageable timeframes. My immediate goal is to deeply learn and continuously evolve in my new role as the EU Underwriter. This involves mastering the technical aspects of my position and also developing strong relationships within the industry while keeping up with market trends that can impact our business. 

What is your favourite saying?
"It's gonna be alright." This phrase has always resonated with me as a reminder of resilience and optimism. No matter the challenge, these simple words encourage a positive outlook and a belief in the possibility of a favourable outcome. It serves as a personal motto that helps keep me grounded and focused, fostering a sense of hope and perseverance. 

What are your hobbies and favourite pastimes? 
 I'm passionate about staying fit and active, regularly going to the gym for strength training and cardio, which keeps me healthy and helps clear my mind. I also love to spend time with family and friends, traveling, and exploring new places, which adds excitement and variety to my life.

What is your favourite food?
Whatever my mum cooks for me; her cooking always feels like home.

What is your favourite film?
My forever favourite film is 'Finding Nemo.' I have watched it more times than I'd like to admit. There’s something about the adventure and the touching story of courage that captivates me every time. The beautiful underwater scenes and memorable characters like Dory and Marlin add layers of charm and humour that make every viewing a delight. It's a film that not only entertains but also represents the precious value of family and friendship.
 
What is the last book you read or music you downloaded?
The truth is that I haven’t picked up a book in a while as most of my reading is more focused on articles and blogs online. As for music, the most recent album I downloaded was from Tiësto. His vibrant beats and energetic tracks are perfect for my workout sessions and social gatherings, always setting the right mood. 

Any pet hates?
I really dislike grumpy and miserable people.
 
If you weren’t working at ITIC, what would you be doing?
Working as an environmental scientist trying to prevent further pollution and protect the nature.
