OW Bunker A/S the global marine fuel company filed for bankruptcy on the 7th November 2014 and reported two senior employees for fraud. The company had operations in 29 countries, and as one of the world’s largest independent bunker logistic companies had an estimated global market share of 7%. The UK Defence Club have compiled a FAQ relating to OW Bunkers to assist Members.

This autumn edition of the Claims Review is published to coincide with the September 2014 meeting of ITIC's Directors in Bremen, Germany.
Specialist transport intermediary insurer, ITIC, has warned shipbrokers that they face the risk of serious financial loss if they fail to ensure that all parties to fixture agreements are in possession of full, confirmed information prior to the conclusion of negotiations.

The intrepid ITIC, Puff the Negligent Dragon, boat team set off for the London Watersports Centre on a balmy September evening for the inaugural OSCAR dragon boat races. We were one of 26 teams all racing to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital, OSCAR campaign. Our fellow competitors were all from the maritime community and included Clarksons, Steamship Mutual, JLT, SOP, West of England and Ince, to name a few.

On Tuesday 16 September, the inaugural OSCAR campaign Dragon Boat Race will unite members of the international shipping community for a fantastic afternoon on the water. The OSCAR Campaign raises funds towards areas of urgent need at Great Ormond Street Hospital and its research partner, the UCL Institute of Child Health. Currently, the campaign is raising money to support lifesaving research into childhood cancers and immune diseases, the results of which will improve children’s lives not just at Great Ormond Street Hospital but worldwide.
