The annual Thomas Miller Insight course will run from Tuesday 2nd to Friday 5th October this year.
Aimed at executives and managerial staff either in the early stages of their careers or without specialist insurance and claims experience, it is also useful for those who wish to broaden or refresh their knowledge in this field.
“An Insight into Transport Law and Insurance” is a practical, extensive four day course for the non-insurance specialist. It combines topical issues such as piracy and sanctions with coverage of more established issues in liability and insurance.
An introductory overview is followed by a closer study of the covers relevant to the maritime or transport professional i.e. Hull, P&I, Defence, TT, ITIC, War Risks. A case study of a major casualty then consolidates understanding of these key areas of cover provided in the lecture room.
However, the programme is not limited to lectures. The Insight team provide interactive and practical participation in the topics they cover with workshops on key claims and liability issues.
The combined expertise of the Insight team from the Thomas Miller managed clubs gives a well-rounded perspective on maritime issues. Presenters are drawn from P&I, Defence, through transport and intermediary liability businesses.
This course counts towards Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours. Each hour of the Insight course is equivalent to one CPD hour.
Past students have found the social aspects of this course an invaluable networking opportunity. These have included an introductory dinner, a tour of London sights and an informal reception at the end of the course.
Participants from ITIC members benefit from a significant discount in course fees. More information can be found in the Insight course brochure PDF attached to this web page.
