Marios qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte Limited in Cyprus before joining ITIC Europe in 2024 as Chief Financial and Risk Officer.
What is your role?
I am currently holding the position of the Chief Financial and Risk Officer.
Where were you working before? Please give us a brief overview of your career history.
I was previously employed with Deloitte Cyprus, where I held the position of Senior Manager in the FSI Audit & Assurance department. For the entirety of my career I have been on projects primarily relating to insurance and reinsurance companies. For the last four years, I have been leading “IFRS 17: Insurance Contracts” implementation projects for a wide variety of local and international insurers.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I am looking forward to working with this great team in a very interesting niche of the insurance market and creating value for the business and its assureds by optimising internal process, ensuring compliance, setting growth targets and being involved in strategy.
Any life ambitions or future goals still to achieve?
Wanting to be great at my role, keep being motivated, passionate and persistent.

What are your hobbies and favourite pastimes?
I enjoy planning tennis and recently grew fond of paddle.

Too many to list – mainly people chewing (especially rice crackers).
If you weren’t working at ITIC, what would you be doing?
I’d be (a quite bad) street guitar artist.
